Re: Letter of Support – Northwest BC Resource Benefits Alliance (RBA)
To Whom It May Concern,
Hy-Tech Drilling Ltd. was founded in Smithers, British Columbia in 1991 as a small, family-owned business with a desire to make a positive difference in the mining industry while supporting the people and communities where we live and work. Beginning as a single-drill operation, we have always placed importance on caring for our employees and contributing to the well-being of the communities that support our work.
Over the past 35 years, Hy-Tech Drilling has grown into an international company employing more than 1,000 people. Many of our employees and their families live in Northwest British Columbia. While our operations have expanded globally, our roots in the region remain strong. Supporting local families and contributing to resilient northern communities continues to be a core part of who we are.
The Northwest BC Resource Benefits Alliance plays a critical role in ensuring that the benefits of resource development are meaningfully reinvested into the northern communities that make this work possible. Residents in these regions often travel long distances for employment, health care, and essential services. Strategic investments in infrastructure — such as up-to-date hospitals, affordable housing, public libraries, safe transportation systems, and reliable airport services — directly strengthen quality of life across the north.
Strong, well-resourced communities are better positioned to attract new residents and retain the skilled workforce that northern industries rely on. By advocating for and securing investments in shared infrastructure and community services, the Resource Benefits Alliance helps create the conditions necessary for long-term community stability, workforce continuity, and regional resilience.
Hy-Tech Drilling is a strong supporter of the Resource Benefits Alliance and its mandate. We firmly believe that investing in community infrastructure strengthens both communities and the industries that depend on them. Communities are defined by the people who live there, care about them, and contribute to their success — and investing in shared infrastructure benefits everyone.
For these reasons, Hy-Tech Drilling Ltd. proudly supports the continued work of the Northwest BC Resource Benefits Alliance and the positive, lasting impact it has across Northwest British Columbia.
Sincerely,
Harvey Tremblay
