Provincial government announces $100-million Northern Capital and Planning Grant to reinvest back into the Northwest
February 16, 2019

Today’s provincial government announcement of a $100-million Northern Capital and Planning Grant to reinvest back into the Northwest is excellent news.

The RBA has been working closely with the Province since 2017 to find a funding arrangement that works for the Northwest and this investment is a huge step in the right direction.

For too long our communities have lacked the funding needed to support our aging physical and social infrastructure. An investment of this scale is unprecedented, and we commend the provincial government for its investment back into the Northwest. This financial injection will ensure our communities are sustainable and liveable, now and into the future.

We look forward to the immediate and long-term opportunities this funding will provide.

The RBA will continue its long-term discussions with the Province.
