Support for the Northwest BC Resource Benefits Alliance
May 5, 2026

TC Energy is pleased to provide a Letter of Support for the Northwest BC Resource Benefits Alliance (RBA) and its efforts to secure a successive revenue-sharing agreement that strengthens the communities that host and enable major industrial development and operations across Northwest British Columbia.

Northern BC has been home to our company since 2012 and in October 2018 we made the exciting long awaited Final Investment Decision to progress construction along the 670km Coastal GasLink pipeline, which would later be responsible for delivering Natural Gas to the LNG Canada plant in Kitimat. After 6 years of construction and employing thousands of workers throughout that time, we achieved that vision with our first delivery of natural gas to the LNG Canada plant in Kitimat in 2024, and the first cargo shipment from LNG Canada on June 30, 2025. The Cedar LNG facility is also being constructed, which has Kitimat as an essential trade gateway and portal to world energy markets.

Local governments across our asset corridor are facing all types of capacity challenges. As industrial growth and opportunities continue to present themselves for Northern BC, the gaps in existing infrastructure and programs are beginning to be spotlighted. It is important to recognize and support these Northern BC communities to ensure that they can continue to prosper and grow alongside the provincial revenue that is being generated by these developments.

Strong communities improve workforce stability and enhance the long-term competitiveness of the region. We have seen firsthand the importance of adequate housing, childcare, healthcare access, and community amenities in attracting and retaining skilled workers. When communities are well-resourced, families thrive, and industry benefits from reduced turnover, improved retention, and a more stable workforce.

On behalf of TC Energy, I want to express our support for the RBA’s work and affirm the importance of a renewed revenue-sharing agreement that benefits workers, families, communities, and industry across Northwest British Columbia.

Sincerely,

Jessica Hunting
